During his stay at FJIRSM, Prof. Studer delivered a speech entitled “Electron-catalysis”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff at FJIRSM.

Prof. Studer obtained his PhD at the ETH Zürich (SUI) in 1995 under the guidance of Prof. Dr. D. Seebach, and continued his postdoctoral studies at the University of Pittsburgh (USA) in the group of Prof. Dr. D. P. Curran. During 1996-2000, he carried out independent research on the development of new synthetic methods in the field of free radical chemistry. From 1992 to 2000, he was employed as associate professor of Organic Chemistry at the Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany. Since 2009, he was employed as Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Organisch-Chemisches Institut, WWU Münster, Germany. Prof. Studer is devoted to the fields of catalysis, organic synthesis, and materials science and has made significant contributions to these areas. He has got several research awards, including Novartis Young Investigator Award in Chemistry (2006), the Solvias Ligand Contest Award (2007), and Research Award of the WWU Münsters (2014).
