Prof. Chao-Kuei Lee from National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) at the invitation of the CAS Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials Chemistry and Physics and delivered a seminar report entitled “Optical Properties of Topological Insulators and Their Application in Lasers” on October 13th, 2017. He carried out detailed discussion with the research staff at FJIRSM.

Prof. Chao-Kuei Lee received his PhD degree of electro-optical engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 2003. He joined National Sun Yat-sen University in 2004 and is currently a full professor who directs the Laboratory of Femtosecond & Quantum Modulation. His research interests focus on ultrafast photonics, including generating and characterizing ultrafast photonic signals with pulse shaping technique, THz photonics, dynamic properties and applications of two dimensional materials, and nonlinear waveguide fabrication and applications for Si photonics and broadband coherent light source. Prof. Lee has published more than 50 reviewed journal papers, including five Science or Nature series papers, since 2011. The average citation number per paper is more than 10.
