“Novo Nordisk-Chinese Academy of Sciences(NN-CAS) Research Foundation” Board revealed its year 2013 funding plan. A research proposal from FJIRSM was funded. The project entitled "Structural basis of antibody modulation of factor VIIa activity" was jointly proposed by two professional investigators from this institute (Prof. HUANG Mingdong and Prof. SHI Ning). The goal of this funded project is to study the structural mechanism of coagulation factor VII.

In 2007, Novo Nordisk and Chinese Academy of Sciences signed an agreement to establish a joint research foundation in China (NN-CAS Foundation). The aim of this foundation is to promote or co-fund activities of common interest in the fields of diabetes and biopharmaceuticals including related disciplines and technologies such as protein chemistry, immunology, inflammation, toxicology, oncology, endocrinology and drug delivery.
