Prof. Pierre H. Dixneuf from the University of Rennes, France, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on April 8th, 2013. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Pierre H. Dixneuf delivered a seminar report entitled " C-H bond catalytic functionalization: new trends with ruthenium catalysts and water " and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.
Prof. Pierre H. Dixneuf worked as deputy director of the Department of Chemistry at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) from 1996 to 1999, and then he served as director of the College of Chemistry of the University of Rennes for three years. From 2001 to 2004, he was appointed Vice President of the University of Rennes , in charge of scientific researches . Prof. Dixneuf is now academician of the “Institut Universitaire de France”, and member of the editorial boards of several well-known international chemical journals. Prof. Dixneuf’s main research interests include carboxylic ester functionalization, selective carbon - carbon bond formation, synthesis methodology of carbon-hydrogen bonds of functionalized olefin shift reaction. So far, he has published more than 370 research papers and 3 monographs. He also has six international patents, and enjoys a high reputation in the international chemistry research field.
