The laboratory has 53 researchers including 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, 18 professors, 14 doctoral supervisors, 2 winners of the National Outstanding Youth Foundation, 1 professor selected to join the National New Century Talents Project. The relatively independent research groups are in well team spirit to undertake programmes, such as the National Fund for Innovative Projects, 973 Projects, International Cooperation Projects, Important Direction of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Projects, and a series of Fujian Province Major Projects. The laboratory has four doctoral degree programmes: material physics and chemistry, condensed matter physics, inorganic chemistry, and physical chemistry. Currently, there are 83 MS candidates and 66 PhD candidates.
