The Research Center of Applied Chemistry (RCAC)is based on the profound R&D strength and the advantages of talent and technology of the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The RCAC, taking the high-tech innovation as orientation and aiming at the industrialization, devotes to carrying out basic science and applied research. The RCAC focuses its research interests on the field of catalyst materials, nano-materials, aqueous adhesives, materials applied in lithium ion battery and ion functional materials.

The head of the RCAC is Prof. Yuangen Yao. There are 6 research groups in this Laboratory, including 6 Professors, One winner of the Distinguished Youth Award of National Natural Science Foundation.

The researchers have completed or still been in charge of many scientific research items from the Climbing Project, “863” and “973” Projects, the major, key and general programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSF) and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the major and key program of the CAS,  the international cooperative items, the major, key and general programs of the Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province and so on.
