Prof. Jun Li from Qinghua University, Beijing, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry during the period of November 4 to 8, 2009. During his stay, Prof. Li delivered a seminar report entitled “Research progress on the theoretical chemistry of heavy elements” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.

At present, Prof. Jun Li is the winner of Chang Jiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education and the winner of the Distinguished Youth Award of the National Natural Science Foundation (NNSF). For quite a long time, Prof. Li has been engaged in researches on theoretical chemistry, quantum chemistry, theoretical inorganic chemistry, heavy element chemistry and computational material chemistry. So far, Prof. Li has published many high-quality research papers on some famous scientific journals such as Science, Nature Materials, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA.
