Dr. CHEN Xiaodong from Nanyang Technological University(NTU), Singapore, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on March 12, 2010. During his stay, Dr. CHEN delivered a seminar report entitled “Chemically enabled nanofabrication for molecular electronics and plasmonics” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.

Dr. CHEN Xiaodong got his B. Sc from Fuzhou University in July, 1999; M. Sc from the Beijing Institute of Chemistry, the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) in July, 2002; and Ph.D from Münster University, Germany in December, 2008. He did his postdoctorate work at the Chemistry Department of Northwest University, USA from November, 2006 to December, 2008. At present, Dr. CHEN is working at the Institute of Material Sciences and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Up to now, Dr. CHEN has published more than 30 research papers in some internationally well-known scientific journals including Angew. Chem Int. Ed.，J. Am. Chem. Soc.，Nano Lett.，Adv. Funct. Mater.，and Adv. Mater.
