Prof. LI Jinghong from Qinghua University and Prof. Guo Lin from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on November 25th, 2010. During their stay, Prof. LI delivered a seminar report entitled “ Study on the electrochemistry of graphene” and Prof. GUO did a report entitled “Preparation, characterization and correlation of iron-based nano-materials”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.

Prof. LI Jinghong is now a full-time professor and a doctoral supervisor with the Department of Chemistry, Qinghua University. Meanwhile, he is the winner of the Changjiang Scholar Program by the Ministry of Education and the winner of the Distinguished Youth Award of the National Natural Science Foundation (NNSF). Prof. LI got his Ph.D from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1996. He did his postdoctoral work at the University of Illinois, University of California and Clemson University, USA, during the period of 1997-2001. At present, Prof. LI is mainly engaged in researches on (1), bio-electroanalytical chemistry: bio-sensing, bio-interface electrochemistry, molecular recognition and molecular interaction; (2), material electrochemistry: nano-electrochemistry, function and assembly of the electrode interface, room temperature ionic liquid electrochemistry; (3), energy electrochemistry: advanced battery materials, electrocatalysis, lithium batteries, super capacitors, catalysis, optical chemistry.

Prof. GUO Lin is a full-time professor and a doctoral supervisor in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In 2001, he became one of the first batch of professors directly appointed by the president of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and in the same year he was one of the winners of the Outstanding Young Teachers Program of the Ministry of Education; From August, 2001 to February, 2003, he studied overseas thanks to the financial support by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany; In 2003, he won the first prize for the excellent Youth research papers on science and technology in Beijing, and the first Award for Young Teachers by Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics; In 2007, he became the winner of the Distinguished Youth Award of the National Natural Science Foundation (NNSF). At present, he is the vice president of the College of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Prof. GUO is mainly engaged in the researches on the preparation of nano-materials, micro-structural characterization and relevant properties. In recent years, he published more than 90 SCI papers on nano-material researches in some well-known journals including J. Am. Chem. Soc., Nanoletters, Adv. Fun. Mater., Small, Chem. Mater.,and Chem. Comm.. And his papers have been cited for over 900 times.
