Prof. Chien-Hong Cheng from Taiwan Tsinghua University visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on April 5th, 2012. During his stay, Prof. Cheng delivered a seminar report entitled “Metal‑Catalyzed Multiple Carbon-Hydrogen Bond Activation for Organic Synthesis” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.
Dr. Chien-Hong Cheng is now a full-time professor and vice president of academic affairs at Taiwan Tsinghua University. He has been mainly engaged in the researches on new metal-based organic synthesis and novel electroluminescent materials: (1) alkyne alkene coupling reactions; (2) applications of carbon-hydrogen bond activation on organic synthesis; (3) asymmetric catalytic reactions; (4) organic electroluminescent materials and relevant devices.
