Dr. Boniface P. T. Fokwa from Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, RWTH Aachen University, Germany, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials Chemistry and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on June 4th, 2013. While staying at FJIRSM, Dr. Boniface P. T. Fokwa delivered a seminar report entitled"Understanding and Designing New Itinerant Magnets", and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.

Dr. Boniface P. T. Fokwa obtained his B.S. and M.S from the University of Yaounde I(Cameroon), Germany in 1996 and 1998, and his Ph.D from Dresden University of Technology under the supervision of Prof. P. Bottcher and Prof. M. Ruck in 2003. His scientific interest focuses on the synthesis and crystal chemistry of new solid-state materials (mainly complex borides), magnetic and superconducting properties, structure-property relationships in intermetallic compounds, electronic structure calculations, and structural characterization (single-crystal and powder diffraction).
