Prof. Shizhang Qiao from the University of Adelaide, Australia, , visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on October 18, 2013. During his stay, Prof. Qiao delivered a seminar report entitled “Carbon and Graphene-based Materials for Energy Catalysis”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.

Dr. Qiao joined the School of Chemical Engineering of the University of Adelaide in February 2012 a professor. His research expertise is in nanomaterials and nanoporous materials for catalysis,drug/gene/RNA delivery and new energy technologies. He has coauthored more than 160 papers in refereed journals, including Nature, Angew Chem Int Ed, J. Am. Chem.Soc, Advanced Materials with him as a corresponding or joint corresponding author(over 5800 citation times, h-index:40). He has filed three patents on novel nanomaterials. In recognition of his achievements in research, he was honored with many awards including a prestigious UQ Foundation Research Excellence Award(2008) and 2013 Emerging Researcher Award. He is now an Associate Editor of Journal of Materials Chemistry A.
