Prof. Tahsin J. Chow from the National Taiwan University(NTU), Taiwan, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on April 18th, 2014. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Chow delivered a seminar report entitled “Applications of Fluorescence Materials”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff at FJIRSM.

Prof. Tahsin J. Chow completed his B.S. at NTU, Taiwan in 1972 and his Ph.D. at the University of Cincinnati, USA, in1980. He has been working as a full-time professor in NTU since 1982. His research interests include structure-reactivity relationship and long-range orbital interactions of organic compounds, preparation of organic functional materials related to electroluminescence, photovoltaic, properties, photochromism, sensors, rectifiers, thin-film transistors, etc.
