Prof. Dominic Wright from the University of Cambridge, UK, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter(FJIRSM) at the invitation of the Key Laboratory of Design and Assembly of Functional Nanostructures on December 16th, 2016. During his stay at FJIRSM, Prof. Dominic Wright gave a report entitled “Metal-Doped Polyoxotitanium Cages: Precursors to Photocatalysts and Models for Metal-Doped TiO2”, introducing his recent research results, especially the interesting findings in structure, edge and defects in titanium and titanium clusters. He has also developed titanium and titanium clusters base compounds applied to light catalysis, super capacitor, phosphor response and so on. Prof. Dominic Wright is a prime senior researcher at the University of Cambridge, UK. He received his PhD degree in the University of Cambridge, UK, in 1989. He worked as inorganic chemistry professor of the University of Cambridge. Owing to his excellent work, he won Royal Society Meldola Medal(1993), Royal Society of Chemistry Main Group Chemistry Award(2012), EU Advanced Investigator Award(2012). He has published some important research papers in Science,J. Am. Chem. Soc.,Angew Chem,Chem. Sci. etc.
