Prof. Dieter Gerling from Bundeswehr University, Munich Germany, visited Quanzhou Institute of Equipment Manufacturing (QIEM), Haixi Institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the invitation of Electric Machine Design Laboratory during the period of November 1st to 3rd, 2017. During his stay at QIEM, Prof. Dieter Gerling gave a report entitled “Electric Vehicles History and Future Development”, and very active discussion was conducted with related researchers at QIEM.

Dr. Dieter Gerling graduated from the RWTH Aachen University. At present, he is the dean of the faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (EIT) at the UniBw Munich and the chairman of the senate at the UniBw Munich.  His research focuses on the electrical drives and power electronics, he has published more than 150 research papers in the past 5 years in the following fields: electrical machines, power electronics, control and on-board power-net and 1 book with the title ”Electrical Machines” by Springer Scientific Publishers.
