Prof. Nicola Pinna from the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on March 7, 2018. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Pinna delivered a lecture entitled “Interface Design in Hybrid Nanostructures”, and carried out detailed discussions with the researchers and students at FJIRSM. Prof. Nicola Pinna received his Ph. D. at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris) in 2001. Then he moved to the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society and the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces to do postdoctoral researches. In July 2012, he joined the Department of Chemistry of the Humboldt University of Berlin as a full professor. His research activity is focused on the development of nanostructured functional materials, their characterization, and the study of their physical properties. He has already published more than 170 research papers and 2 books. In 2011 he was ranked among the top 100 materials scientists of the past decade by impact.
