Prof. Partha Sarathi Mukherjee Visits FJIRSM

Prof. Partha Sarathi Mukherjee from Indian Institute of Science, India, was invited by the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry to give a speech entitled “Chemistry in Confined Space of Molecular Architectures” on November 20, 2018. Active discussion was conducted with the research staff at FJIRSM.

Partha Sarathi Mukherjee is an Indian inorganic chemist and a professor at the Inorganic and Physical Chemistry department of the Indian Institute of Science. Mukherjee's studies focus on supramolecular and organometallic materials, organic nano structures, molecular sensors and nanocages. The team led by him has also worked on Enzyme mimics, single molecule magnets of polynuclear clusters and catalysis in nanocages. He is also associated with many science journals and serves as the associate editor of Inorganic Chemistry. He is a recipient of the Swarnajayanthi Fellowship of the Department of Science and Technology and the Bronze Medal of the Chemical Research Society of India. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards, in 2016, for his contributions to chemical sciences.
