2019 International Symposium on Radical Chemistry, sponsored by State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry and Key Laboratory of Coal to Ethylene Glycol and Its Related Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), hosted by Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, CAS, was held successfully in Fuzhou from April 15th to 16th, 2019.  

A total of 11 representatives participated in the symposium, including Prof. Chao-Jun Li, the academician of Royal Canadian Institute, from McGill University, Canada, and other outstanding scholars from Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), Spain; Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, Swiss; école Polytechnique, France; Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC); Peking University; Southern University of Science and Technology; Xiamen University; Sichuan University; Soochow University, etc. 

At the opening ceremony, Prof. SU Weiping made an opening remark showing a warm-hearted hospitality to all participants. The main topic of the symposium was radical chemistry. 11 seminar reports were made at the symposium. The speakers vividly elaborated their viewpoints toward radical chemistry, shared their latest research achievements and prospected for the future. Participants have carried out hot discussion on the researches of radical chemistry. 

The symposium has served as a good platform for the domestic and overseas experts and scholars engaged in the research on radical chemistry.
