Prof. Dayong Jin from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the CAS Key Laboratory of Design and Assembly of Functional Nanostructures and delivered a seminar report entitled “Super Dots for Super Resolution Imaging and Single Molecule Digital Assays” on February 22nd, 2021. The scientific research thinking of his group was shared and the recent advances in super-resolution microscopy imaging and single molecule tracking techniques based on a new library of super dots were introduced at the lecture. Prof. Dayong Jin also carried out academic exchange with the research staff of FJIRSM during his stay in FJIRSM. 

Dayong Jin is a Distinguished Professor at UTS since 2017. At UTS, as the director, he established the Australian Research Council Industry Transformation Research Hub for Integrated Devices for End-user Analysis at Low Levels (ARC IDEAL Research Hub), the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources’ Australia-China Joint Research Centre for Point of Care Testing (DISER POCT), to transform advances in phonics and materials into disruptive biotechnologies. His research has been on the physical, engineering and interdisciplinary sciences, with expertise covering biomedical optics, nanotechnology, microscopy, diagnostics and microfluidics devices. Prof. Dayong Jin is the winner of the Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Interdisciplinary Scientific Research in 2015, the Australian Academy of Science John Booker Medalist in 2017, and the Prime Minister’s Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year 2017.
