Prof. Ib Chorkendorff from Technical University of Denmark (DTU) visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) and delivered a seminar report entitled ‘The Challenge of Activating Molecular Nitrogen: New Routes and Catalysts for Ammonia Synthesis and Decomposition’ on October 22, 2025.

Ib Chorkendorff is professor of Heterogeneous Catalysis at DTU Physics. Chorkendorff has been actively focusing on finding new catalysts for improving sustainable energy production and conversion. In 2001 and 2018, he was elected Fellow of The Academy for Technical Sciences and member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters, respectively. Chorkendorff is the director of The Villum Center for the Science of Sustainable Fuels and Chemicals (V-SUSTAIN).
