From July 1 to July 6, 2026, Dr. Felix Rojas from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM). During his visit, he delivered a series of academic lectures on power electronics and energy conversion and engaged in in-depth academic exchanges and discussions with researchers and students at FJIRSM. The lectures focused on optimal pulse pattern control, model predictive control, and intelligent power conversion technologies, highlighting their applications in motor drives, power converters, and renewable energy systems. Felix Rojas received his Ph.D. from the Technical University of Munich. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and Director of its Energy Research Center, overseeing the Power Electronics and Energy Conversion Laboratory and the Electrical Machines Laboratory. His research interests include modular multilevel converters, electric transportation, wireless power transfer, intelligent control, and power electronic energy conversion. He has led several national and international projects, supervised more than 30 postgraduate students, and published extensively in leading journals, including IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics. He also serves as a reviewer for international journals and a research evaluation expert in Chile.
