Prof. Eric V. Anslyn from the University of Texas, USA, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on June 3rd, 2011. During his stay, Prof. Anslyn delivered a seminar report entitled “Supramolecular Analytical Chemistry” and carried out detailed discussion about organic chemistry and supramolecular chemistry with the research staff of FJIRSM.
Prof. Anslyn is now a Norman Hackerman professor with the University of Texas at Austin. Currently he is the fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science, member of New York Academy of Sciences. His research interest covers the fields of supramolecular analytical chemistry and small molecule therapeutics. He has published more than 33 US patents and about 200 papers, in top journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci., Acc Chem Res., Angew Chem Int Ed, Chem. Soc. Rev., and received numerous important awards. He authored one textbook with the title of Modern Physical Organic Chemistry. He is also one of the associate editors of J. Am. Chem. Soc.. He serves as an editorial advisory board member of J. Supramolecular Chemistry.
