Prof. Mitsuru Itoh from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on Oct. 13th, 2011. During his stay, Prof. Itoh delivered a seminar report entitled “Perovskite engineering: from the materials to the earth” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.
Prof. Mitsuru Itoh, one of the internationally renowned experts on ferroelectric materials, is now a full professor at the Institute of Applied Ceramics, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. His main research interest focuses on functional oxide materials. In particular, Prof. Itoh has done a lot of researches on the magnetism, dielectrics, ionic conductivity and luminescent properties of oxide ceramics, single crystals and thin films. Up to now, Prof. Itoh has published more than 400 SCI research papers on some international scholastic journals including JACS, PRL, PRB.
