Prof. XU Qiang from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on May 14th, 2012. During his stay, Prof. XU delivered a seminar report entitled “Nanostructured materials and their functional applications” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.
Dr. XU Qiang is now a senior research fellow with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Osaka, and a part-time professor of Kobe University, Japan. His main research interest focuses on the application of porous materials, nano-materials and related functions, especially clean energy. Until now, Prof. XU has published over 200 research papers on some important international scientific journals including J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.. He won Thomson Reuters Research Frontier Award in 2012.
