Dr. Naohiko Yoshikai from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on December 6th, 2013. While staying at FJIRSM, Dr. Yoshikai delivered a seminar report entitled "C-H Bond Functionalization Catalyzed by Cobalt Complexes" and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM. Dr. Naohiko Yoshikai got his Ph.D at the Department of Chemistry, The University of Tokyo under the supervision of Prof. Eiichi Nakamura in 2005. His major research interests focus on the development and mechanistic study of novel transition metal-catalyzed chemical transformations and their applications to the synthesis of interesting target molecules. Dr. Yoshikai has ever got some awards including Asian Core Program (ACP) Lectureship Award (Japan) in 2011, Research Fellowship Award, National Research Foundation of Singapore in 2009 and Takasago Award, Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry of Japan in 2008.
