Prof. Dong Kyun Seo from Arizona State University, USA, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on June 30th, 2014. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Seo delivered a seminar report entitled “New Synthetic Developments − Nanoporous Metal Oxides, Nanostructured Aluminosilicates and Functionalized Reduced Graphene Oxides”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff at FJIRSM.

Prof. Dong Kyun Seo, who got his PhD from North Carolina State University, is currently an associate professor at the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Arizona State University in USA. His research efforts focus on design of new synthetic strategies, synthesis, characterization and applications of new inorganic porous materials, hybrid materials and composite materials. His research group is particularly interested in new synthetic developments and interdisciplinary applications of nanostructured materials for renewable energy production, water purification and environmental remediation, by adopting green chemistry principles.
