Prof. Ru-Shi Liu from National Taiwan University visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials Chemistry and Physics during the period of August 7th to 10th, 2014. On the morning of August 8th, Prof. Ru-Shi Liu delivered a seminar report entitled “Light Conversion to Light, Electricity and Heat: Applications in Solid-state Lighting, Energy and Biomedical” and shared his experience on how to balance the top academic research and partial research. As one of oversea members of CAS Creative Research Team of “Nano-Bioprobe Materials & Application”, Prof. Ru-Shi Liu also carried out academic exchange and cooperative research  with the research staff of FJIRSM during his stay in Fuzhou.

Prof. Ru-Shi Liu obtained two Ph.D degrees in Chemistry from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan in 1990 and from the University of Cambridge,UK in 1992. He joined Materials Research Laboratories at Industrial Technology Research Institute as an Associate Researcher, Research Scientist, Senior Research Scientist and Research Manager from 1983 to 1985. Then he became an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the National Taiwan University from 1995 to 1999. Then he promoted as a Professor in 1999. He got the Excellent Young Person Prize in 1989, Excellent Inventor Award (Argentine Medal) in 1995 and Excellent Young Chemist Award in 1998. Prof. Liu’s is the author and coauthor of more than 460 publications in some international scientific  journals.
