Prof. Shixue Dou Visits FJIRSM

Prof. Shixue Dou from the Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials (ISEM) at Australian Institute of Innovative Materials, University of Wollongong, Australia, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on October 28th, 2014. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Shixue Dou delivered a seminar report entitled “Development of Nano-materials for Energy Applications”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff at FJIRSM.
Prof. Shixue Dou is now Distingiushed Professor and Director of the Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials (ISEM) at Australian Institute of Innovative Materials, University of Wollongong. He received his PhD in chemistry in 1984 at Dalhousie University, Canada. He was elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Science and Engineering in 1994. He was awarded a DSc by the University of New South Wales in 1998 and three Australian Professorial Fellowships by Australian Research Council in 1993, 2002 and 2007. He received the Australian Government’s Centenary Medal in 2003, Vice-Chancellors Senior Excellence Award in 2008, Vice-Chancellor Outstanding Partnership Award in 2012. Meanwhile, Prof. Dou is also program leader for ongoing Automotive CRC 2020.
