Prof. Rahul Banerjee from CSIR-National chemical laboratory, India, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on June 4th, 2015. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Rahul Banerjee delivered a seminar report entitled “Porous Metal and Covalent-Organic-Materials: Hydrogen Storage, Carbon Capture and Proton Conduction”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff at FJIRSM. Prof. Rahul Banerjee received his PhD from the University of Hyderabad. After a postdoctoral work in UCLA with Prof. Omar M. Yaghi (2006-2008), he joined the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India in 2008 as a professor. His research interests include the study of structural chemistry with the flavor of chemical synthesis to design new materials for hydrogen storage and carbon sequestration, such as MOF and COF. Prof. Banerjee is an editorial board member and associate editor of CrystEngComm. He also serves as a co-editor of Acta Crystallographica Section E. Prof. Banerjee was invited to become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2013 in recognition of his significant contribution to Chemical Science. He has published more than 100 papers on some famous journals including Science, JACS, Angew and one book chapter since 2003.
