Prof. Uttam Tambar Visits FJIRSM |

Prof. Uttam Tambar from UT Southwestern Medical Center, USA, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of professor BAO Hongli on September 24th, 2015. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Uttam Tambar delivered a lecture entitled “Catalytic Asymmetric [2,3]-Rearrangements”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff and students at FJIRSM. Uttam Tambar received his B.S. degree at Chemistry and Physics from Harvard University. After receiving his Ph.D. degree from California Institute of Technology in 2006, he worked as postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University. He started his independent career in 2009. He was promoted to full professor in 2013. He was awarded the Thieme Chemistry Journal Award in 2012 and the Sloan Foundation Research Fellowship in 2013 for his outstanding work at enantioselective [2,3]-rearrangement reactions.
