Prof. Tobias Madl from the Medical University of Graz, Austria, visited Xiamen Institute of Rare-earth Materials (XMIREM), Haixi Institutes,Chinese Academy of Sciences from May to November, 2016. He delivered a seminar report on the topic of MR-based Biomarker Discovery on May 24^th,2016. During his stay at XMIREM, he also contributed to the supervision of MSc/PhD students.

Prof. Tobias Madl is now an associate professor at the Institute for Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Medical University of Graz in Austria. He is also the group leader of Emmy Noether research and BioSysNet research. His research mainly focuses on structural biology. Up to now, he has published more than 40 papers on various well-known scientific journals, including Cell, Nat Struct Mol Biol., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., etc.
