Prof. Yung-Fu Chen from the Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on October 31st, 2016. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Yung-Fu Chen delivered a lecture entitled “From Developing Laser Instruments to Exploring Laser Physics and Quantum Physics”, and carried out detailed discussion with the researchers at FJIRSM.

Dr. Yung-Fu Chen, who obtained his Ph.D from the Chiao Tung University in 1994, is currently a distinguished professor at the Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. Prof. Yung-Fu Chen received many honors for his outstanding scientific achievement, including 2004 and 2011 annual outstanding research award from the Science Council of Taiwan, and Taiwan Zhongshan Academy Award in 2008. His major research interests include laser physics and technology, quantum physics, nonlinear science, solid state physics and surface physics, etc. He has published some important research papers in Physical Review Letters, Laser&Photonics Review, Physical Review A/B/E, Optics Letter etc.
