Prof. Tomohiro Yokozeki from University of Tokyo visited FJIRSM On May 24th, 2017. During his stay at FJIRSM, Prof Yokozeki gave a lecture entitled "Lightning damage suppression of Composite laminates using frequently conductive polymer matrix ". Dr. Tomohiro Yokozeki introduced how to overcome the limitations of carbon fiber composite materials in the direction of anti-lightning materials, developed a new type of carbon fiber composite polymer anti-lightning system, and studied its electromagnetic shielding performance and anti-lightning performance. The research content is novel, caused a lot of interest of FJIRSM. After the report, a detailed discussion with the research staff at FJIRSM was also conducted.
Prof. Yokozeki is currently a professor at the University of Tokyo, Japan. He is mainly engaged in the research of composite aerospace structures, lightweight structural dynamics, multifunctional composites, and low cost composite materials. Prof. Yokozeki obtained his master and doctor's degree from the University of Tokyo in 2001 and 2004. He worked as a researcher at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency from 2004 to 2007. From 2007 to 2009, he was a lecturer at the University of Tokyo. In 2009 he was an associate professor at the University of Tokyo. He won the best paper award many times from Japan Society for Composite Materials, Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Science. In 2013, he obtained the “Hayashi Award” from the Japan Society for Composite Materials.
