Prof. Rüdiger Klingeler from Heidelberg University, Germany, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) at the invitation of the CAS Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials Chemistry and Physics and delivered a seminar report entitled “High-pressure optical growth and anisotropic transport of LiMPO4 (M=Fe, Mn, Ni) single crystals” on October 11th, 2017. High pressure optical floating zone method was introduced in details to prepare single crystalline LiMPO4 as solar cell cathode materials. He carried out deep discussion with the research staff at FJIRSM.

Dr. Rüdiger Klingeler is a professor in Experimental Physics, Spokesperson of the Graduate School of Excellence, Director at the Centre for Advanced Materials, Heidelberg University, Germany. His group applies a materials-based approach to investigate fundamental aspects of magnetic interactions and electronic correlations mainly in the field of basic research. In addition, their research on nanoscaled magnets for biomedical applications and on Lithium-ion batteries illustrates how complex magnetic materials can be directly relevant for applications. Up to now, he has published near 200 research papers and has done more than 50 invited talks.
