Prof. Sason Shaik from Israel Visits FJIRSM

Prof. Sason Shaik from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on November 20th, 2017. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Shaik delivered a seminar report entitled "Oriented Electric Fields as Future Smart Reagents in Chemistry" and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.

Prof. Shaik is well known to the world for his achievements in the field of theoretical chemistry. He is now a chair professor in chemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the director of The Lise Meitner-Minerva Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry. He is also a Fellow of World Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists (WATOC) and a member of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science (IAQMS). His research interests range from chemical bonding, to chemical reactivity, and all the way to metalloenzymes and their synthetic models. He has published 530 papers, 4 books, 2 edited books, 31 reviews and so on, with h-index of 87.
