Prof. May Nyman Visits FJIRSM |

Prof. May Nyman from Oregon State University, USA, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry on December 4, 2017. During her stay, Prof. Nyman delivered a seminar report entitled “Snapshots of elusive polynuclear clusters in water” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM. Prof. May Nyman graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, USA in1992. She got her PhD from the University of New Mexico in1997. She did researches at Sandia National Laboratories as Senior, Principal and Distinguished Research Fellow during the period of 1998 to 2012. In August, 2012, she joined the Chemistry Department of Oregon State University as a full-time professor. Prof. Nyman is a well-known chemist in polyoxometalate. Her research interest covers transition metal and actinium metal. Prof. Nyman made great achievements on aqueous synthesis, characterization and application of oxygen Cluster materials, and she has published many research papers in some high-level scientific journals including Science, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., JACS and PNAS.
