Prof. Yohachi Yamashita and Prof. Tomoaki Karaki from Toyama Prefectural University, Japan, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on Nov. 15, 2018, and gave two talks entitled “Past, Present, and Future of Alternative Current Poling for Piezoelectric Materials” and “High-temperature electrical properties of langasite Ca3Nb(Ga,Al)3Si2O14 single crystals . They presented the results of the bone remodeling function using a multi-frequency, multi-pulse repetition frequencies (MFP) -Whole body (WB) Low Intensity Pulse Ultrasound Stimulation (LIPUSS). Active discussion was carried out with the research staff at FJIRSM.

Prof. Yohachi Yamashita received his Ph.D. degree from Waseda Univ., Japan in 1998. He wrote more than 200 peer-reviewed papers. His research Interests include relaxor based piezoelectric single crystal and acoustic materials for medical ultrasonic transducers, and effects of low-intensity-pulse-ultrasounds (LIPUS) for fish growth and bone healing therapy.

Prof. Tomoaki Karaki is a professor at the Department of Engineering of Toyama Prefectural University. He received his Ph.D degree in electronic materials from Kyoto University. Between 1985 and 1989, he worked at Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since 1993, he has worked at faculty of engineering, Toyama Prefectural University, Japan. His research interests include preparation and application of piezoelectric materials, simulation calculation of surface acoustic wave devices, acoustic-related physical parameters and temperature coefficient of piezoelectric single crystals, hydrothermal synthesis of nano-functional crystals, effects of low- and medium-intensity ultrasound on aquaculture and biology.
