Prof. LU Canzhong on behalf of Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM), Chinese Academy of Sciences and Prof. Tobias Madl on behalf of Medical University of Graz(MUG), Austria, signed the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in Xiamen on April 26th, 2019.  

Prof. CAO Rong, Director of FJIRSM, Ms. ZHANG Jing, Chief of Postgraduate Students Division of FJIRSM, and Prof. ZHANG Yun, Deputy Director of Xiamen Institute of Rare-earth Materials, also attended the signing ceremony. 

At the signing ceremony, Prof. CAO Rong gave a welcome speech and brief introduction of FJIRSM. Dr. Caroline Schober-Trummler, Vice Rector of MUG, introduced the MUG and expressed her best wishes for future cooperation between MUG and FJIRSM on video. Prof. Tobias Madl on behalf of MUG also gave a speech about his cooperation with FJIRSM in the past and future. FJIRSM and MUG seek to establish strategic cooperation that builds on excellent and complementary infrastructure and mutual research interests in biomedicine, with a focus on understanding the mechanisms, diagnoses, and therapy of human diseases. 

MUG, founded in 2004, with more than 1,800 employees in academic and non-academic areas and over 4,100 students enrolled in the diploma programs medicine, dentistry, and nursing science; the doctoral program medical science; PhD-programs and postgraduate university courses is the hub of innovative and high-end medicine in the south of Austria. The research community at the MUG bundles its innovative capacity in four research fields and the general approach of sustainable health research.
