Prof. Xavier Mateos from Rovira i Virgili University (URV), Spain, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on May 30th, 2019. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Xavier Mateos delivered a lecture entitled “Prospects of Rare-Ions doped Double Tungstates, from Miniature Lasers to Thin-Disk Lasers ”, and carried out detailed discussion with the researchers at FJIRSM. 

Prof. Xavier Mateos, who is currently working in the faculty of Chemistry/Inorganic and Physical Chemistry Department, Rovira i Virgili University (URV), Spain, is considered to be one of the leading experts in the field of crystal growth and laser physics. He has established an internationally recognized research program encompassing the growth, characterization, and applications of rare-ions doped double tungstates. Now Prof. Xavier Mateos is serving on the editorial boards of Journal of the Optical Society of America B (OSA).
