Prof. Ru-Shi Liu from National Taiwan University(NTU) visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) at the invitation of the CAS Key Laboratory of Design and Assembly of Functional Nanostructures and delivered a seminar report entitled “Perovskite Quantum Dots Nanocomposites for Q-LCD and QLED” on September 2nd, 2019. All-inorganic perovskite quantum dots nanocomposites for Q-LCD and QLED and broadband near-infrared phosphors with high radiant flux as future light sources for LED spectroscopy applications were introduced in the lecture. Prof. Ru-Shi Liu also carried out academic exchange and cooperative research with the research staff of FJIRSM during his stay in FJIRSM.  

Prof. Ru-Shi Liu obtained two Ph.D degrees in Chemistry from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan in 1990 and from the University of Cambridge, UK in 1992. He joined Materials Research Laboratories at Industrial Technology Research Institute as an Associate Researcher, Research Scientist, Senior Research Scientist and Research Manager from 1983 to 1985. Then he became an associate professor at the Department of Chemistry of NTU from 1995 to 1999. Then he promoted as a professor in 1999. He got the Excellent Young Person Prize in 1989, Excellent Inventor Award (Argentine Medal) in 1995, Excellent Young Chemist Award in 1998, Distinguished Research Awards from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in 2018, Chun-San Publication Award in 2017, and Hou Chin-Tui Award in 2018. Prof. Liu is the author and coauthor of more than 500 publications in some international scientific journals.
