Prof. Makoto Fujita Visits FJIRSM |

Prof. Makoto Fujita from the University of Tokyo visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on October 8th, 2019. While staying at FJIRSM, Prof. Fujita delivered a lecture entitled “Coordination self-assembly: from Origins to the latest Advances”. Detailed discussion was carried out with the researchers and students at FJIRSM. Prof. Makoto Fujita is Distinguished Professor at the University of Tokyo, Japan. He received his Ph. D. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1987. After working in Chiba University and Institute for Molecular Science (IMS) at Okazaki, in 1999, he was appointed as a full professor of Nagoya University. In 2002, he moved to the University of Tokyo as a full professor, where he was appointed as Distinguished Professor in 2019. Since 2018, he has also been appointed as Distinguished Professor at Institute for Molecular Science. Selected Awards he has received are: Imperial Prize and the Japan Academy Prize, 2019; Wolf Prize in Chemistry, 2018; Naito Foundation Merit Award, 2017; Medal with Purple Ribbon, 2014; Fred Basolo Medal (ACS), 2014; Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award (ACS), 2013.
