Prof. Chaoyang Tu   

Prof. Chaoyang Tu graduated with bachelor of science from the Chemistry department of Hua-qiao university in 1984. Then was engaged in Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of matter, ACS. and devoted himself to the research on the new laser and nonlinear optical crystal. He pursued the study and got the master’s degree in condensed matter physics and a doctoral degree in physical chemistry from Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of matter, ACS. during 2001 and 2005. He mainly engaged in the study on the new functional crystal and film. The major research tasks include Mid-infrared laser crystal, Tunable laser crystal, Ultrafast laser crystal, nonlinear optical crystal, Multifunctional laser crystal, Acousto-optic crystal and Magneto-optic crystal,etc. The major research works carried out in Phase Diagram and structure analysis, Material Synthesis and crystal growth, Spectral and laser performance test, are focused to explore the structure-activity relationship of material composition, structure and properties. So far, he published more than 260 papers in the domestic and international SCI core publications such as Opt. Lett. Optics ExpressCrystal Growth & Design . He applied 35 invention patents and achieved 16 licensing patents. He achieved the Second Prize of Fujian Natural Science Award in 2014, the Second Prize of Ministry of Education Natural Science Award in 2012, the Third Prize of Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Award in 2004, and First Prize of scientific and technological progress, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1992. Under the cooperation of crystal companies, the high quality laser, acousto-optic crystals will be put into production. Meanwhile, a lot of sales have been made for Raman crystals such as SrWO4 and BaWO4 crystals.
