The National Engineering Research Center for Optoelectronic Crystalline Materials was approved to be founded by the Ministry of Science & Technology of People’s Republic of China in 2005. The foundation of center was supported by FJIRSM, and its predecessor is Fujian Engineering Research Center for Optoelectronic Crystalline Materials, which was approved by Fujian Provincial Department of Science & Technology in 2002. The present laboratory director is Prof. Mao-chun Hong, and Prof. Wen-xiong Lin is the managing director.

To accommodate the demands of the major science-oriented and cross-cutting-edge, our researches are focused on the innovative optoelectronic crystal materials and devices which are needed by industrial development, and our final goal is building the center as one of the internationally renowned Optoelectronics Research Center.
