Journal of Solid State Chemistry(JSSC) started publication in 1969 and was published monthly by Elsevier Academic Press Inc. （http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/00224596?oldURL=y）It mainly reports research papers, newsletters and book reviews on experimental and theoretical research results of solid state chemistry and related disciplines , such as ceramics and a variety of amorphous materials science. The research covers the chemistry, structure, thermodynamics, electricity, optics, magnetism, and other aspects of solid state materials.

At the invitation of Prof. M. G. Kanatzidis,Editor-in-chief of JSSC, who is now working at Northwestern University, USA, Prof. CHEN Ling from Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter(FJIRSM) began to serve as one of the editors of JSSC in November, 2012.The first duration of this appointment is three years.

Prof. MAO Jianggao from FJIRSM was also invited to serve as one of the members of the editorial board of JSSC in 2007.
